Teaching as I am now at a private Christian academy, I have the opportunity to open the Bible and bring students a devotional each morning, as well as use the Bible as a reference during daily history lessons. It is truly a blessing.
The other day, I read a passage to the students that had come up in one of daily reading apps. It’s from Colossians 3:12-13:
“Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.”
As Christ-followers, Paul reaffirms our position in Him- We are chosen, holy (set apart), and beloved of God, and forgiven.
Therefore, we should be to others as Christ is to us- kind, humble, long-suffering, forgiving.
As we allow Christ to live His life in and through us in this world, people will see how we treat each other, as well as how we treat those who do not yet know Christ, and it will lend credibility to our words.
May people see these Christ-like qualities in me, and come to faith in Him themselves (Matthew 5:16).
