Paul’s Prayer

I found myself reading in Colossians 1 this morning, and read a beautiful prayer the Apostle Paul prayed for the people of the church at Colossae

“…we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” v.9-10

What a fantastic prayer to lift up for those God has given you to influence, whether family members, friends, neighbors, coworkers and clients, or church members. Picture them in your mind, call them by name, as you pray this over them. And what a great prayer to utter for yourself, as you begin a new day and week.

To know God’s will, in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

To walk in worthy manner before the Lord.

To please Him in all things.

To bear fruit in every good work.

To know God more and more.

What a wonderful way to pray.
